This is the kitchen of the founder of MAKUS, Merel Philippart. Playfulness, colour, cosiness and comfort. These played a key role in the design of the kitchen for Merel and her friend. In terms of taste, there is overlap between us, but also definitely a difference. Merel: "it is a search for where 'the taste circles' overlap. And giving each other's ideas space."

We are incredibly happy with the result. Merel: "I can sometimes keep looking at it. The MAKUS Moon brings the different colours and materials together, it is such a beautiful connector. The terrazzo countertop is from Pronck Design, beautiful. Handcrafted, playful and stylish in looks. At Pronck Design you can put together your own terrazzo, a real candy store."

We partnered with Makus after a client requested one of their products’ MAKUS MOON. We instantly saw the benefits but hesitant to make the leap from other lower cost brands in case the quality wasn’t relative to the price tag, as we knew nothing about them. Any reservations were quickly put to rest when our hobs arrived. Now installed in our clients home and featuring in our Studio here in Ireland, they are a superb piece of kit; as wonderful to cook on as they are beautiful to look at!
