Induction hob with or without integrated extraction: what do you choose?
Have you decided to cook with induction? Then the next choice quickly follows: do you opt for an induction hob with integrated extraction, or do you choose a separate hob with an extractor hood above it? We list the pros and cons for you.
The two options
With an induction hob with integrated extraction, the extraction system is built into the hob itself. An extractor hood above it is no longer necessary. With a separate hob, you combine the hob with a separate extractor hood – above the counter or in the ceiling.
Pros and cons
Induction hob with integrated extraction
- No more extractor hood needed, cleaner and calmer in the kitchen
- Less cooking space on the hob
- The extraction system takes up underlying cabinet space
Induction hob with extractor hood above
- A wide extractor hood works more powerfully than integrated extraction
- An extractor hood takes up a lot of space, unless you choose a ceiling unit
What does it cost?
An induction hob with integrated extraction is available from approximately €1,700. A separate hob combined with an extractor hood can be cheaper, but if you choose a beautiful hob with many functions and a stylish extractor hood, it is often more expensive than an all-in-one solution.
